Golfers and supporters alike braved the rain on Monday, September 11th, 2023 for the 21st annual Marquette Charity Golf Outing at the scenic Arrowhead Golf Club in Wheaton, Illinois. Despite the less-than-ideal weather, the event was a resounding success, leaving participants with hearts warmed by the spirit of community and giving.
A Remarkable Achievement
This year’s outing marked a milestone for the Marquette Companies. With the largest turnout ever, the event raised an impressive total of $247,821 for the Institute for Community. This generous contribution will undoubtedly make a significant impact on individuals and families in need across Will, Cook, and DuPage Counties.
The Institute for Community: Fostering Genuine Community
The Institute for Community, the beneficiary of this fundraising event, is a non-profit organization committed to fostering genuine community through Friendship, Membership, Partnership, and Ownership. Their programs have positively impacted countless families, offering a wide range of support services including before and after school care, academic enrichment, preschool, and adult support groups.
One of the Institute’s flagship initiatives, the Community Life program, aims to build stronger communities by connecting residents to each other, their interests, and valuable services in their neighborhoods through asset mapping techniques.
Moreover, the success of the Marquette Cares program, a unique initiative in partnership with the Institute for Community, was celebrated at the event. This program, powered by the generosity of Marquette property employees and resident community fundraisers, has contributed over $100,000 to individuals facing difficult times in their communities. It’s a testament to the incredible impact that caring communities can make when they come together.
