Progress on the mixed-use residential and retail development currently under construction in Downtown Lisle should be even more evident in the coming weeks, as pre-cast columns and walls begin to go up at the site. With much of the foundation and preliminary site work complete, pre-cast concrete columns and panels will take the project rapidly above ground, with second floor deck and masonry stairwells progressing.
Dubbed Marq on Main, the property includes 201 well-appointed apartment homes in five stories on Burlington Avenue and three to four stories along Main Street, with indoor parking for residents and tenants, as well as 35 new on-street parking spaces. Some 14,000 square feet of new commercial space will add restaurant and retail uses that will strengthen the commercial district, build foot traffic and enhance the Downtown as an attractive dining destination. The development will feature a new public plaza offering outdoor dining at Main and Burlington, as well an additional public plaza at Spencer and Burlington, and two rooftop amenity decks along Burlington Avenue. Completion is expected in late Fall 2017.
Marq on Main is being developed by Marquette Companies, a leader in commercial and multifamily residential development and management across the country. The company is headquartered in Naperville.
“We look forward to delivering these beautiful units in the third quarter of next year. We anticipate leasing to both empty nesters and young professionals who desire a walkable, amenity-rich urban-like lifestyle in the suburbs,” says Nick Ryan, CEO of Marquette Companies. “We are currently managing and leasing Courthouse Square in downtown Wheaton, and what we predicted has been confirmed there. The market for leased residences in downtowns along the train line is strong among both populations.”
